The leaked footage of Ray Rice viciously KO'ing his wife Janay has shocked the world. Everyone knew that they got into an altercation previously, but no one was aware of how brutal the assault was until the actual footage was released showing him hitting the woman he loves hard enough to deliver a Mortal Kombat-worthy "Fatality" inside of an elevator at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City on February 15th. While there are some people who've been trying to defend him, the vast majority of people who've witnessed the video have spoken out against Ray, including fellow NFL players and general celebrity figures.
The NFL and Ravens organization have raised many eyebrows in the past for only giving Ray a 2-game suspension as punishment for the incident; however, after the team and league reviewed the footage of the actual attack, Ray has since been cut from the Ravens and suspended indefinitely from the NFL. One of the main questions that many people were left with after watching the violent video is why exactly did Janay not only stay with Ray after this terrible incident, but also decide to exchange vows with him and accept his hand in marriage just one month later? People have been wondering what has been going through Janay's mind since the footage or her brutal beating was released, and many of them were left completely baffled by her public response.
Janay took to Instagram today, September 9th, and expressed her thoughts on the tidal wave of drama that has flooded her family's home within the past 24 hours. She called the entire situation a nightmare, and proceeded to bash the media for shedding light on this domestic abuse situation to "gain ratings." Janay was furious when she wrote:
"THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get? If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels."
Janay also directly defended Ray for being the man that she loves who "has worked his as* off for all his life." Her defense of the man who knocked her out cold has sparked many outraged responses on Twitter.
