Jay Z has long promoted Ace of Spades Champagne in his music videos, and now the Hip Hop superstar has bought the company for an undisclosed amount. New York-based Sovereign Brands made the announcement on Wednesday, and revealed that Armand de Brignac (Ace of Spades) was sold to a new, unnamed company ran by Jay Z.
The Brooklyn-born rapper's ties to the champagne go back to when he featured it in the 2006 video for "Show Me What You Got." Jay later had the bottles, which start at $300, served in the luxury suites at the Barclays Center back when he was a former owner. He also had an 18-foot tall tower constructed of the bottles at a 2012 fundraiser for President Obama at his 40/40 nightclub.
