It was announced earlier today that Meek Mill is about to finally be released from jail. The beloved Philadelphia rapper has spent nearly a full five months behind bars after originally being arrested in July for violating his 2008 probation for firearm and narcotics possession charges. Fans have eagerly been awaiting the release of one of the most popular Hip Hop artists in the game presently, and after reports came out from Philly's Fox29 that Meek will be freed today, December 2nd, fans have jumped on Twitter to rejoice over his release.
Despite Meek's freedom, he will still have to do a significant amount of community service, and his rights to travel freely have been revoked for a certain period of time. Eventually Meek will be granted the privilege to travel from state-to-state and country-to-country again, but for now, it looks like he may be grounded in Philly. Regardless, fans couldn't be happier that the "Dreams and Nightmares" rapper is coming home.
