The Carmelo Anthony trade talks have sparked once again, as the 30-year-old NY Knicks star has reportedly expressed an interest in leaving the Knicks organization.

After only 24 games, with the Knicks losing 10 straight recently and falling to a struggling record of 4-20 for the 2014-2015 season, Melo is apparently interested in possibly waiving his no-trade clause.  Anthony initially signed a huge five-year deal with the Knicks that would pay him $124 million.  If Knicks President Phil Jackson is able to make a deal with a team that Anthony is interested in playing for, then the Knicks could very well lose their shining star.

Sources close to Melo shared the news of his potential hopes of waiving the no-trade clause to the New York Post.

"He thought things would be better than this, but he still wants to stick it out for now,'' said the source.  "He trusts Phil, but I think he's afraid of Phil.''

However, according to a text sent to ESPNNewYork.com by Carmelo's agent, Leon Rose, the story posted by the NY Post is false, and Melo has never expressed any such interest in being traded.

"Carmelo, as always, is committed to the Knicks," read the text from Rose.  "There have never been discussions about trades or wanting to leave New York. Any story, rumor, report to the contrary is utter nonsense."

Regardless, talks of Melo's potential departure from the Knicks has sparked a bundle of debate from fans on Twitter.  Some feel as though he would be making the right choice to finally leave, while others think that Melo is paying the price for choosing greed over the potential to win.
