Shad Moss is trying to show his fans a new side of himself by slowly separating himself from his music career. The artist took to Instagram over the weekend to openly discuss his career path. The former 106 & Park host hasn't released an album since Face Off, his collaborative album with Omarion in 2007. Since then, he's put out several mixtapes under the Cash Money label, a few singles from 2008 to 2012 and delayed his album Underrated with the birth of his daughter.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Shad, now a cast member of the CSI spin-off Cyber explains why he's been more than ready to venture off into the world of acting.

"People ask me "where's the music" i just see it differently," he said. "I been rapping since five ill be 28 in less than 2 months. Thats 13 yrs in ONE career. Thats someones nfl or basketball career. The things these artist doing now i BEEN did it. We did the tours we sold millions. I got BORED. Wanted a challenge. So i started acting. Reading scripts practicing. Found a NEW love a new wave of energy. I been acting since 12. I would see my fans react to my films and appreciate the work just as much as my music. I remember after lottery ticket i told cube "I'm retiring from rap" he told me never say what you [gonna] do. That way if you want to rap you not biting your own words when you come back to the mic."

His math might have confused fans but since Shad hasn't put out a single since 2012, Moss was actually making music for about 20 years and acting for over a decade.
