J. Cole turned heads with his "Fire Squad" track, taking shots at Iggy Azalea, but the Roc Nation rapper told Combat Jack that it's not particularly the Australian rapper's fault.

"It's not even Iggy Azalea's fault, she's chasing her dream. It doesn't matter the quality of her music but I have to comment, it's my job to tell you what's on my mind in the slickest way ever...When history is told Macklemore is in them books, Iggy Azalea's in them books."

During the conversation, J. Cole also spoke about how he was caught off guard when good friend Kendrick Lamar blew up, "I wanted to sign this n***a.  I was like 'who the f**k is a Top Dawg?' Then it turned into some sh*t where he blew the f**k up and reached levels that I haven't reached. I didn't know that n***a' would go platinum before me."
