Tuesday (Feb. 24), Childish Gambino" Glover stopped by the 'Today' show to promote his new film, The Lazarus Effect. There the "Freaks and Geeks" MC speculated about retiring his Hip-Hop moniker, Childish Gambino.

"I guess Childish Gambino is a period in my art time. I want to have periods in my life," said the 31-year-old rapper. "I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should come to a close. I like endings." The multifaceted artist expounded by adding, "I look at my life as something you should be able to paint. I think it is kinda like performance art."

An organic artist, Donald Glover went on to declare, "I always wanna do music. Like, I love music and I already put out projects, quietly, everywhere and I wanna produce."

Gambino's latest ode to Hip-Hop, STN MTN/Kauai, dropped last year. In total he has released three albums under the pseudonym Childish Gambino.

Is this an end to Glover lending his voice to Hip-Hop or just a name change?
