Raekwon's classic album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, is one of the most influential Hip-Hop albums in history, often being considered the blueprint for Mafioso rap. Rae would like to document the creation of the album with a new film and is hoping his fans are ready to help him turn this dream into a reality. The Chef's upcoming project, titled The Purple Tape Files: The Documentary & Film, will be crowdfunded, with fans being able to donate anywhere from $5-$10,000 towards the production of the movie.

The Wu-Tang spitter spoke to Rolling Stone about the project, sharing his vision for the film.

"Our vision for the film is for it to be as honest as possible, removing the filter from both ourselves and participants," Raekwon told the magazine. "I plan to take viewers on a ride through the album from beginning to end. Beyond revealing untold information about the project and how it was created, the film will also bring to life the actual movie that happens within the album."

As with most crowdsourced projects, Rae is offering rewards for fans who choose to pony up the cash, including a 20th Anniversary Purple Tape sticker, their name listed in the movie credits and even a personal mixtape review from Raekwon himself for all the aspiring artists out there.
