"[It's] a slap in the face," said State Trooper Association President Chris Burgos. His statement was in regards to a commencement speech Common was scheduled to make at Kean University in New Jersey.

Why, you might ask? Because of "A Song For Assata" (released back in 2000) Common's dedication track for Miss Shakur who was accused of killing a New Jersey State Trooper in 1973. Students at the University originally wanted him to make the commencement speech because of his contributions to society, but due to outraged members of the State Trooper Fraternal Association and their various complaints, K.U. is no longer welcoming the Oscar-winning rapper.

Do you think Common should still be facing backlash over a song he made 15 years ago?
