Mixtapes used to be the exclusive playground of skilled DJ's like Clue, Green Lantern and Kay Slay. Not anymore. These days, ANYONE can drop a mixtape - and everyone does.
It's hard to tell who's at fault with these covers. Sometimes it's a graphic artist who just learned photoshop last week. Other times it's the DJ/artist giving the graphic designer a ridiculous direction. Either way, the end result is usually the same.
Please keep in mind that we didn't listen to any of these mixtapes. For all we know these could all be better than Dr. Dre's Chronic, 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Trying and Nas' Illmatic. Being included in this list is strictly based on the cover art.
