Retailer Ambercrombie & Fitch isn't pleased with the advertising that it's receiving from Jersey Shore's Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. Situation often dons A&F apparel on and off the camera. The company released a statement asking that Mike wear an "alternate" brand of clothing due to the concern over the association with its brand. "We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans."
No one from MTV or from Mike's camp has commented on the offer from Abercrombie & Fitch. This has to a first that any company has offered up money to a consumer in order to get them to stop using their product.
