Police have came forward dispelling rumors of Vybz Kartel and seven other inmates got away with a grand escape from New Horizon Adult Remand Centre. They also say that rumors of a guard dying from a heart attack and 12 others being injured during the escape, is completely not true.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Les Green claimed he had no knowledge of the escape, saying "I know nothing about that. If that had taken place I would would certainly have known."
An officer at nearby Denham Town Police station also weighed in on the situation, saying "It may be an attempt by his cronies to keep him in the news but they don't need to spread rumours to do that because he will be in the news for quite some time."

In what is called the biggest prison escape in the history of Jamaica, Vybz Kartel (Adidja Palmer) and 7 other prisoners escaped the Horizon Adult Remand Centre on November 30th. The reggae artist was charged with multiple murders and marijuana possession.
At around 1:00 am, Vybz Kartel took over the prison by taking officers hostage using smuggled guns. Other prisoners began to take the offcers' clothing and car keys. By 1:45 am the group left the prison in a maintenance truck. 1 officer died from a heart attack and 12 others were injured in the escape.
The police gave chase to the crew, but only captured one of the escapees. Vybz and his cohorts are currently listed as "Jamaica's Most Wanted".
