An elderly man in Germany could be eligible for the Worst Grandpa of the Year award after he forgot his nine-year-old granddaughter in the trunk of his car.
Germany's The Local reported that a 72-year-old man allegedly became so distracted by a beautiful lake that he forgot that his granddaughter was in the trunk of his car.
How did she get in the trunk? Simple. She asked to ride in the trunk and the grandfather obliged her request.
Other tourists heard the girl's pouding in the trunk and her screaming, so they called firefighters to free her.
Police say that the grandpa was "visibly affected" and would never let anyone ride in his trunk again.
