Kendrick Lamar is a fast rising young star who has already been awarded greatly for his musical contributions thus far. At the 26th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards in Beverly Hills last night, June 27th, Dr. Dre presented Kendrick with the Vanguard Award. Dre spoke very highly of his fellow Compton MC before presenting him with the award.
"Kendrick Lamar is a class act. I'm proud to know him. I'm proud to work with him and he is an important part of the new generation of hip-hop, and it's definitely continuing the legacy of Compton."
