RapUpTV caught up with Big Sean on the red carpet at the Moet Rose Lounge in West Hollywood on Tuesday, August 13th, and spoke to him about the overall reaction to Kendrick's verse on their "Control" collaborative. Sean knew that it would stir up some drama, but he didn't know exactly how much, and feels as though Kendrick definitely "went over the top" with the name drops, but he also loves his own verse as well as Jay Electronica's and feels as though his own verse has "some great quotables in there."
He acknowledged that he had an opportunity to change his verse after seeing Kendrick's, but Sean stated that he's "not a ho* as* n*gga." "I wasn't gonna change my stuff for nothing. I didn't want to alter it." Sean is really pleased that hip-hop has evolved to the point where someone can call out many people for a lyrical challenge without things turning violent.
