Caustic chopped it up about a variety of topics in this clip from his exclusive interview with BattleRap.com.  He addressed the comparisons between Smack/URL and KOTD and how they boiled down to "two different demographics."  He stated how he knows people from a more street-oriented background in Oakland who aren't Battle Rap fans, and yet they still know who Smack is.

"I know a bunch of random hood-as* dudes in Oakland that don't give a sh*t about battling at all but they know SMACK. Everybody knows SMACK. King Of The Dot started in Canada. It's got more of a wholesome fan base. [Laughs] It's just two different demographics. People are looking for two different things. I think the hood wants one thing and the rest of Hip Hop's fan base wants something else. Really it's just the same sh*t. We all want to hear the best bars we can possibly get. It's funny there's so much segregation throughout the community but really we need to support each other as much as we possibly can or this sh*t will die."

He also addressed the concept of "real vs fake" within Battle Rap, and how many MCs rap about all types of lifestyles that they've never actually lived without any fear of being checked by someone for their wild claims.  Caustic reflected on his own life and how he previously caught a gun charge during his youthful years which lead to him being sentenced to 7 years behind bars, though he managed to get out in 3.
