Papoose shares why he called Trinidad James a "jive as* turkey" after the Atlanta rapper said the South runs NY. The "Nacirema Dream" emcee says that he felt Trinidad was trying to "take a shot at NY" with his comments, which he said could've been inspired by Kendrick Lamar's "King of NY" comment.
When asked about NY DJs feeling pressured to play more local artists after Trinidad and Kendrick's comments, Papoose feels that it was a chain of events which inspired the DJs. He explains that while on tour he spoke to radio personalities down South, who asked, "Why aren't [NY DJs] protecting the back yard?"
The "Alphabetical Slaughter" rapper says that he personally asked NY DJs why they had the same playlist as Atlanta way before Kendrick and Trinidad were speaking out. After the other two rappers made their comments, Papoose says that the question became up for discussion once again.
