A Newark, New Jersey family is mourning the loss of their 17-year-old daughter. Cheyanne Bond was shot and killed execution style in a random act of violence.
According to Raw Story, Bond was walking with a friend Sunday night on South 17th Street in Newark when she was told to get on her knees.
"They told her to get on her knees and they shot her in the head execution style," her uncle Michael Bond told WCBS. "Just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time."
Her friend survived the shooting, but is still in the hospital.
Family and friends say that Bond was a quiet teen and had planned to go to college to become a nurse.
Surveillance cameras caught two men leaving the area shortly after the shooting. Police have begun an investigation after Bond's death marked the third shooting in a 24-hour period in the city.
