With Apple purchasing Beats By Dre earlier this year, CEO Tim Cook and legendary producer and Beats co-founder Dr. Dre are a pair of business partners with a lot invested in one another. However, their shared interest hasn't stopped Cook from challenging the Compton native in front of the entire world -- and all for a good cause.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is a new viral sensation taking social media by storm, and as the name suggests, participants must douse themselves in a bucket of chilling ice water. Unlike most viral trends though, this one isn't about retweets or instant fame, but rather raising money and awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, a disease of the nervous system that affects about 30,000 Americans.

Cook, who was challenged to participate by Apple's Phil Schiller, was backed by a full band who played Vanilla Ice's hit "Ice Ice Baby" while he was drenched. Those who refuse the challenge are required to donate, but Cook not only participated, he donated as well.

Celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jimmy Fallon and Mark Zuckerberg have all participated and in the last two weeks alone the ALS Foundation has raised more than 4 times the donations they had last year this time.
