Funkmaster Flex went hard on Jay Z's Life & Times website last night, where he blasted the blog for allegedly taking key components of his FMF app for Jay Z's Samsung app that dropped three days before his last album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, hit stores.
He explained that the reason he's expressing his frustrations on the air is that L+T contacted his assistant asking if he'd be interested in an interview explaining his role in the reunion of Dipset. Flex finds the request hypocritical, as he was asked on more than one occasion not to play Dipset music in Jay Z's 40/40 club.
"I've always been super neutral in this situation, super," said Flex. "But I don't understand how somebody from that site can ask me about my involvement in the Dipset reunion. But when I used to go to the 40/40, I was told not to play any Dipset records. I'm so confused."
He went on to recall a particular time at 40/40's Atlantic City location when he was asked to turn off a Dipset record.
"And I'm gonna tell you something about that 40/40 in Atlantic City. There was a security guard that came up to me and told me to change that record, because of my respect for Desiree I changed it. We was gonna wear you out in that club that night. Your whole security is my Tunnel security. I made them dudes rich."
"We were gonna press you that night. And just in case you're feeling lucky, I'm back in Atlantic City this Sunday. You know who I'm talking to. You're funny looking and you're a clown. We were gonna take you down that night. You knew it. That's why you were crying."
That, combined with Flex believing they essentially reworked his app without permission, led the radio veteran to call the site "trash" several times, claiming it's just a site with fancy pictures that doesn't do numbers. Also, while he doesn't mention Jay Z by name, many speculate Hov is the one Flex is actually speaking to, as he owns the site, the 40/40, and has had past issues with Dipset members.
