Lord Jamar weighed in on Nicki Minaj recently saying she is hesitant to speak out on racial issues because of what happened after Kanye West said George Bush doesn't care about black people.

The Brand Nubian emcee feels that celebrities should be the ones protesting the loudest, saying, "How is money really helpful to you if you live in fear...if you wasn't a platinum-selling artist and all that, you'd be ready to say whatever the f*ck you want, right?"

Addressing the fear of backlash further, Lord Jamar referenced Kanye West's claims of racism against George W. Bush. He says while the comment may have initially tarnished 'Ye's reputation, the Chicago emcee is now bigger than ever, so the damage was clearly temporary.

When asked if he believes Kanye was correct to accuse Bush of being a racist, Lord Jamar didn't mince words. "Hell yeah. He comes from another inherent culture of racism."
