An Indiana man known as "The Big Bandit" for his countless bank robberies in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area was brought down in a high-speed chase by a group of police officers last month.

According to Michigan Live, police caught Brian Standford on the I-94 highway after robbing the Old National Bank branch in Portage. The 49-year-old was also involved in several other bank robberies in January and served time in jail in the '90s for other bank robberies. Police tracked Standford down when he dropped one of the cash bags when a dye pack exploded during his robbery in Portage.

Police told reporters they took down The Big Bandit with a special tactic by laying spike trips on the highway. Standford was able to drive a few miles after his tires blew out, but ended up hitting a median covered in snow.

In the three bank robberies Standford performed in January, he stole an estimated total of $4,000.
