With "To Pimp A Butterfly" still holding it down as the #1 album in the country, Kendrick Lamar is bringing a sound that arguably hasn't been heard before and was long overdue. Earlier today he stopped by Hot 97 to discuss the album with the crew as well things he has in the works and plans he's trying to implement sooner rather than later.
The two year process it to took to make TPAB wasn't an easy one. With artists such as Prince not being able to make the final cut, and actually taking the time to put together the album he always wanted to release, it's truly been a long time coming.
Watch the interview in its entirety above as he speaks on a collab album with J. Cole, his favorite track on TPAB and the meaning behind the album's title, and why he wants his listeners to let "good kid, m.A.A.d. city" "live a little bit before calling it a classic."
