There could be new information emerging to help close the book on the unsolved mystery of who murdered Bay Area rapper Mac Dre in 2004. Dre was killed following a show, at the age of 34.

An unnamed informant has come forward, and he claims to know who killed the rapper. Kansas City writer Alonzo Washington announced he'll be holding a press conference, and that he was asked by an anonymous male informant to be introduced to the Kansas City police department.

If the informant's "terms and conditions" are met, he claims that he will reveal the name of the person who he believes killed Mac Dre.

"Mr. Washington is very excited about closing this murder case because it cause so many people to be killed behind rumors and hip-hop speculations," according to a prepared statement.
