Since Tyler Perry first graced the world with his creative talents in 1999 with his play I Know I've Been Changed, he's gone on to create a one-man empire. Perry's done it all - writing, directing, producing, acting - every major aspect of film production, Tyler Perry has been a part of it. Most of his major motion pictures originated as plays and grew to become loved nationwide as films.
He is extremely well known for his comical film creations, especially with his embodiment of the Medea character. But don't forget, Tyler Perry's creative expertise has stretched far beyond just making humorous movies. He's put forth some extremely dramatic and incredibly moving films such as For Colored Girls, Good Deeds, The Family That Preys, and the Oscar-winning Precious, which Perry produced.
Over the years, he has created an abundance of opportunities for talented African American actors to have a shot at exploring their dreams and allow the world to witness their abilities.
