Ramona Parker, who was known to the world as Ms. Melodie, has passed away, according to a number of news sources. Her cause of death is currently unknown.
As a member of the Boogie Down Productions crew, she released her first album "Diva" back in 1989 while signed to Jive Records. Her hit video "Live On Stage" and her just as powerful single "Hype According to Ms. Melodie" were some of her best known projects. A performance of her 1989 single "Self Destruction" remains one of her more memorable appearances.
Parker, ex-wife of Hip Hop veteran KRS-ONE, was a Brooklyn native and mother of two sons.
