Rep. Peter King (R-NY) had a front row seat at Barack Obama's Inauguration this year, and the republican found himself on the cover of the New York Post snapping a photo of Beyonce and Jay-Z.
The headlines read, "FIRST COUPLE! (Well almost)--Pols fawn over Beyonce, Jay-Z at inaugural." Except, Peter King had no idea who was next to Beyonce in the picture he was taking.
"She's been after me for years," King joked with the Post. "I was in a good location, and just for historical record, anybody who looked important I took a picture of. I didn't know the guy beside her, Jay-Z."
NY Mag was just as shocked as everyone else, and asked King how he could possibly not know who Jay-Z is.
"I didn't know!" King insisted. "I knew the name but I didn't realize that was him. I just know Beyonce from seeing her picture in the papers. I don't know rap. I stopped listening to music after Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers."
