Ice Cube has been more about movies than music in recent years, and even has his own production company called "Cube Vision." Unfortunately, Cube Vision is now the subject of a new lawsuit alleging that the 2008 movie "Lottery Ticket" was taken from a book without permission.
The author, Franklin White, filed the suit against Cube Vision, Warner Bros. Pictures, Alcon Film Fund and Alcon Entertainment in Atlanta federal court. The description on the cover of the book states that "First Round Lottery Pick" is a "gritty dramatic book about a young basketball star who instantly becomes wealthy and the surrounding problems that arise." The movie has a similar plotline, just without the basketball part.
White is alleging that the movie shares 44 identical incidents with the book, which pushed him to pursue legal action. Though Cube's company is mentioned in the lawsuit, his actual name does not appear.
