Much like the birth of Jay and Bey's daughter Blue Ivy, people are already trying to capitalize off of the birth of Kim and Kanye's child, North West.

Less than a week after North's birth, Kim and Kanye were forced to issue a cease and desist letter to a publicity company that allegedly used the celebrity baby to advertise a charity auction.

Jonathan Hay Publicity planned to sell a painting of Kanye West that they would auction as a celebration of baby North West, and put people under the impression that Kim and Kanye had a hand in the event. Obviously, neither of them had any clue this was going on.

"While our clients certainly have no objections to yours and Mr. Michael A. Smith's desire to donate money to the Charity, and in fact would applaud your making a donation, you cannot do so under the guise that it is pursuant to a request by our clients, that your activity is sanctioned or approved by Ms. Kardashian and Mr. West, or are involved in any way with your 'charity auction.' Yet this is exactly what you have done," said attorney Lisa M. Buckley, who represents the celeb couple.

UPDATE:

While Jonathan Hay Publicity did reach out to the Kardashian's about the charity auction, it seems they were actually rather polite and respectful about it. Jonathan Hay contacted VladTV to set the record straight, explaining how his people were completely caught off guard by Kanye's cease and desist letter after they acted with "complete integrity."

"The frustrating thing about the whole situation was the way the Kardashians handled it. Our company really helped out the Kardashian family late last year and they know we operate with complete integrity," said Sabrina Hale, co-owner of Jonathan Hay Publicity. "We contacted Kris Jenner and Todd Wilson (Kim Kardashian's lawyer) and let them know about the charity auction, which we thought they would be happy about. We asked Kris to tweet it. A day later, we got a nasty cease and desist letter from Kanye West's attorney, accusing us of trying to leach off of their 'celebrity.' It was ridiculous and condescending."

Hale continues, "The public wants to see realness, rawness, imperfections...we want something we can relate to and be inspired by, not something completely unattainable. Even the Kardashians can't keep up with themselves, they've set the bar too high. I'm just all-around tired of the Kardashians and everything they represent. Duck lips and high heels don't make you a role model."

Do you think Kanye overreacted to the situation?
