CNN's Pedro Pinto sat down with Chicago native and Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose to discuss the ongoing and extreme levels of gun violence that have been occurring on a regular basis in his hometown. Derrick gave some reasons that are different from the typical "gang and drugs" problems that so many cite as the cause behind gun violence in areas suffering from poverty.
"If you see people getting famous off YouTube, you think you can be the next person. That creates havoc, but at the same time, it creates different ideas and different subjects," Rose said. He believes that Chicago could thrive if the effort to create rather than destroy is emphasized in those areas.
