Smack/URL's Norbes and rising Proving Grounds (PG) spitter Ah Di Boom sat down with VladTV Battle Rap Journalist Michael Hughes to discuss the success of Season 2 of BET's 106 & Park Smack/URL Ultimate Freestyle Friday (UFF) competition.
Norbes was one of the primary factors responsible for bringing the talent seen on the PG's over to the UFF in the first place, so he was very pleased with the talented showcase of lyrical Battle Rap skill put forth by all of his recruits. He spoke on the comparisons regarding the judging and how the intensity of the actual battles that took place in Season 2 were more like actual URL Battle Events, whereas Season 1's battles had somewhat of a detachment from what the culture is used to. Norbes praised all of the talent he put on the show for not slacking on their material and putting forth a great display of skill to elevate the culture of Battle Rap to a wider mainstream audience.
Ah Di Boom, one of the competitors on the Season 2 tournament, spoke on the level of hunger that he and his competition had going into the tournament and how that hunger translated over to the audience present at the battles to make the events that much more spectacular while being filmed.
Be sure to tune in to the new episode of BET's 106 & Park Smack/URL UFF competition this Friday, April 11th, at 6pm to see Ah Di Boom exchange bars with Danny Myers.
