Elle Varner took a break from working on her sophomore album Four Letter Word to chat with VladTV about her rich musical background, ethnic roots and a hilarious moment her mother had with the late Michael Jackson.

Varner's parents, Mikelyn Roderick and Jimmy Varner, were songwriters and publishers to some of music's most legendary acts like Barry White and Kool & The Gang. With music surrounding her, the singer started to play instruments at a young age and wrote her first song at 11-years-old. The "F**k It All" singer says as a child, her home was full of music and insight by artists and musicians.

"It wasn't a typical house," she said. "People were singing all the time. There were always musicians sleeping on our couch and giving me a lesson here and there. It [was a] straight art house."

She also shares a hilarious story about Michael Jackson pranking her mother with candle wax.
