"We were on the road [and] we were performing at a big event," Claudette Ortiz began, "and we heard that Prince was there, and they shut down the whole backstage." That's when someone informed Ortiz that Prince wanted to meet her, to her surprise. In this clip the "R&B Divas LA" star tells VladTV about her time with Prince, and how behind all of the glitz, glam and high-heeled boots, the 5'2 musical phenom is just "a regular dude."
"I heard doves around and he had this big piano shaped in the Prince symbol," Claudette remembers. Prince took the 18-year-old City High songstress to his famous Paisley Park Studios years ago, where he provided her with insight, schooled her on game, and recorded a track with her. Claudette recalls finishing the song "really fast" and not hearing much from the "Purple Rain" entertainer after it was finished. "He gave me a copy of the CD and that was it."
