OG Maco didn't start out as a rapper. The College Park resident "dabbled" in the street life between the ages of 12 and 13 before taking it more seriosuly just a few years later. Though it didn't ruin his life at first, Maco eventually ended up dropping out of Georgia State University because he was "getting a lot of money," which almost led him to being sent to jail for quite some time.
"I almost went to prison, for a long time," claims OG Maco, who revealed that he faced 20+ years at just 19 years old. "20 was guaranteed, then plus whatever," he recalls. Maco was on house arrest for over a year for charges he wouldn't mention, and says the situation helped him a great deal with his music content and life overall.
"I'll never forget it. I'll never forget what it taught me- it ain't what you wanna go through." Watch as he speaks on how he's evolved as a person since then and how he feels he was given a second chance at life above.
