Late last year Lil Durk was arrested and denied bail on a gun possession charge, and once he was released he took to Twitter to call out some "fake friends" he didn't realize he had until he was arrested. In this exclusive clip, the "Dis Ain't What U Want" rapper talks about his own jailed "brothers" and the support he shows them, and how he didn't receive nearly as much when he was locked up.
"You don't get that same support system once you're in jail," says Lil Durk, who makes sure to send his incarcerated friends anything they need while they serve their time. When asked exactly how many of them are behind bars, he replies "we got like, 20 of the guys locked up." Despite the extreme lack of help from people when he was in the same situation, Lil Durk says "as long as I take care of my people I'm straight." "They gotta eat. You can't leave them starving in there, 'cause that's what turns people against you."
