Charcey Glenn, the mother of Charles Barkley has died at the age of 73, USA Today reports.

Glenn passed in her home in Leeds, Alabama Friday evening. The Jefferson County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the result of her death was kidney failure. Barkley grew up in the small town before making his way to the Auburn University and ultimately, the NBA. His mother was a proud supporter of his craft and present when the former player received his 1993 MVP award. 

Barkley currently co-hosts NBA on TNT. 

Glenn was an active in the town as she served as a chair of the city's water board.

Her funeral is currently scheduled for June 27.
