Many are claiming that Junior Galette of the New Orleans Saints was allegedly involved in a brawl that was posted onto Youtube back in March of 2013.
According to CBS Sports, it was reported that the linebacker struck several people with a belt - including a woman - in the video entitled "Spring Break 2013 South Beach Brawl." The New Orleans Times-Picayune believe that Galette was the man in the clip clad in a white shirt, white pants and sunglasses, and apparently the NFL has known about the incident since it occurred over two years ago. "We were made aware of the video and we sent it to the league office," Saints spokesman Greg Bensel said. "There is a process this will go through at the league-office level and we are waiting on that to be determined." As of recent, the NFL has yet to make a comment.
Ralph Whalen - Galette's lawyer - claims his client is not the man in the video striking others. "The website was satisfied it wasn't Junior, or at least wasn't satisfied that it was Junior. It's disturbing," Whalen told Nick Underhill of the Advocate after a website uploaded and then took down the clip. "I don't understand why this thing is being dragged back into this poor fellow's life again."
Currently Junior Galette has a meeting scheduled with NFL officials later this month after he was charged with simple battery back in January - there's been no word on if he'll receive any punishment for the video once he meets up with them. Stay tuned for more info as this story develops.
