Atlanta actor Curtis Snow of indie-movie fame released a statement from prison Sunday (May 15), to clear the record about his recent run-in with the law during a church funeral.  On May 7 the "Snow on tha Bluff" star was taken into custody in what authorities characterized as a "stand-off", while mourning the loss of his 94-year-old grandfather at Higher Ground Empowerment Center in North-West ATL.  The arrest reportedly took 3 1/2 hours to make as police say Snow, born Curtis Ward, had barricaded himself in the church's bathroom.  Snow disputes the validity of accounts as told by police and much of the media.

"All that bulls**t yall been seeing in the news man, don't believe that hype. I'm serious. I'm here to tell the real true story man.  Them folks busted in my grand-daddy's funeral on some hater a** s**t.  Total disrespect, about a little ass warrant.  And I was distraught, because as the last god d**n male in my family, you know, who looked up to [him], that was my last grand-dad.  I just lost my other grand-dad six months ago.  And god dammit you know, I just got a little emotional with that bulls**t," he says in the 00:59 audio clip.  "That's some bulls**t that they're saying.  All that about I had a gun, all that about a hostage and all that s**t.  Hell no, that's my family church.  I was baptized at that church, and god dammit I've got the utmost respect for that church, the preachers, my grand-dad, my whole family.  I would have never did no dumb s**t to have no gun at no church.  Don't believe none of that hype."

Snow's own recounting of the incident seems to align with that of the church pastor, Dexter Johnson, who at the time said: "The young man that's allegedly barred inside the church, that's his granddad. Young people grieve differently. I don't think he was here to hurt anyone."  Snow has a record of mostly drug related arrests.  The actor/author proclaims the lifestyle he's lived in the title of his 2013 autobiography, "My Name is Curtis Snow and I'm a G".  He first came to the attention of thousands in 2012 when 'The Wire' actor Michael K. Williams discovered his low-budget film [SOTB], and repackaged it for distribution through Amazon and Netflix.  Snow encourages listeners to get more on his recent troubles by downloading his newest book, STILL on tha BLUFF, which is available in audio and .pdf.
