DeMarcus Cousins: Brittney Griner is Delusional, She Can't Beat Me 1-on-1

Back in 2013, Mark Cuban suggested he might draft Brittney Griner, and questions arose about how she would fare against NBA players. Well, the two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year and center for Team USA's women's team believes she could beat two-time NBA All-Star and center for Team USA's men's team, DeMarcus Cousins.

So what do other members of the USA basketball squads think? Well, the consensus was with Cousins.

“I’m glad she’s that confident in her abilities, but she’s also a little delusional,” Cousins said. “It’s not a walk in the park over here.”

"I like the confidence B.G., but I don't know if that's gonna happen," Kevin Durant agreed. So did Draymond Green, "I got Cous on that one."

Griner, of course, isn't backing down from her statement. She laughed when she was told she'd be no better than the third best post player on the men's team, and said she would use it as fuel to her motivation. "I'm better and I know that kinda gets at him, but it's OK little man," said Griner.

She did get support from one person, "My money's on B.G.," teammate Diana Taurasi said.

Cousins is averaging 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in the Olympics, while Griner is putting up 10.6 points and 5.7 rebounds.

Perhaps the most extreme assessment came from USA women’s head coach Geno Auriemma: “If there’s no referee, I’m going to go to the ATM, and I’m going to sell my house, and I’m going to put all my money on DeMarcus Cousins.”

Carmelo Anthony and DeAndre Jordan had an opinion we can all agree on, "I would pay to see that."
