Peedi Crakk recently sat down with Doggie Diamonds and told a previously unheard story about Jay-Z deleting a verse from Cam’ron off one of his songs.
It’s no secret that Jay-Z and Cam’ron didn’t get along during the Roc-A-Fella days and Cam has told a story about him taking Jay-Z off an “Oh Boy” remix. Peedi seems to have revealed a bit of retaliation from the legendary emcee himself. Crakk said Cam’ron called him to get on one of his songs and the two met in New York shortly after and made it happen. Crakk was listening to the song in Bassline Studio one day when Jay-Z walked in and “made his heart drop.”
“While I’m listening to it, Jay walked in the room,” said Peedi. “I would get real nervous when this n***a came around. And as soon as Cam’s part came on, Jay tapped the engineer and was like ‘delete that sh*t. Get that n***a off of there. [The engineer] deleted it.” This happened just one day after Cam jumped on the track. Peedi said it crushed him to lose Cam because he was such a fan of the Harlem rapper. “That was a little thing for him to do for me. He a thorough dude,” he said. Peedi ended up telling Cam about it later on. The Harlem rapper didn’t seem to think much of it. They eventually met up and Cam ended up keeping a copy of it on CD and gave it to him. The song was eventually given to DJ Kay Slay.
