Chicago Rapper/Producer Smylez Dead, Rico Recklezz Confirms Cause of Death

Chicago rapper and producer Smylez has unexpectedly passed away. Rico Recklezz confirmed the news on his Instagram and dispelled rumors that Smylez was shot.

Recklezz told his followers, "STOP SAYING SMYLEZ GOT SHOT HE HAD A HEART ATTACK GOD JUS CALLED HIS ANGEL HOME HE WAS A LEGEND AND WILL 4EVA BE THAT RIP SMYLEZ LOVE YOU."

Smylez was credited with pioneering the drill sound in Chicago and helping start careers for Rico Recklezz, Lil Jojo, and Lil Jay. His death stunned the hip-hop world, including famed Chicago producer Young Chop, who wrote on Twitter, "This s*** can't be real. I'm f***ed UP right now."
