Melania Trump filed a lawsuit against Mail Media, the owner of the Daily Mail, for an article they published that falsely claimed the First Lady had worked for an escort service.

The suit was filed Monday in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, and it alleges that the article prevented her from establishing “multimillion dollar business relationships,” and that it tarnished her “unique, once in a lifetime opportunity” to “launch a broad-based commercial brand.”

According to the lawsuit, "These product categories would have included, among other things, apparel accessories, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, hair care, skin care and fragrance.”

The Daily Mail article was eventually retracted, but the lawsuit cites significant emotional and economic damage and is seeking $150 million.
