Love him or not, Lil Yachty is popping hard right now. So it was a huge surprise to many when the Atlanta rapper's debut album, Teenage Emotions, only shifted 46,000 units in first-week sales after dropping late last month.
Since then, Lil Boat's come under fire with accusations that his first studio project was a flop. However, Yachty took to Instagram over the weekend and chalked up the disappointing sales to people not understanding him.
"I make [music] for those who listen. I feel like my brand is so big and blew up so big, it blew up bigger than my actual music," wrote Yachty in the Instagram post.
Yachty also clapped back at his detractors on Wednesday with another Instagram post in which he showed off his new iced-out Audemars Piguet watch along with various bracelets, rings, and chains.
"You flopped Yachty, yeah you're a flop," mocked the rapper while flossing his bling. "I'm a flop. Well if this is what flops look like, then I love it."
