Video clips from XXL's 2017 Freshman Class photo shoot have been surfacing and they reveal that one of hip hop's promising young artists didn't show up in the greatest shape.
Ugly God, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, PnB Rock, MadeinTYO, Playboi Carti, Amine, Kap G., Kyle the Rapper, XXXTentacion, and Kamaiyah were all recognized by the publication as potential stars via their membership into this year's cadre of fresh talent. A few of the artists somehow didn't get the memo that the distinction comes with a scheduled photoshoot though. In fact, Amine would take to Snapchat on Tuesday, June 13, to gripe about being blindsided by the shoot, telling fans, “I'm honored actually, but I'm disappointed. Like, Y'all wasn't finna tell me that we did a whole ass photo shoot. When, when did this happen?”
Judging by flashes of the actual photoshoot though, it was obvious Amine wasn't the only one ill-prepared for a magazine spread. He and MadeinTYO remained motionless as others in the group switched poses and incorporated animated facial gestures, but of all people, XXXTentacion was practically absent from the shoot altogether. The Broward County rapper simply sat slumped over the whole time. Whether he was sleepy, sick, sentimental or stoned isn't clear, but it certainly doesn't appear as though through all of the flicking, the cameraman would have directed him to remain in such a state.
