The July 4th Smackdown special provided for some classic WWE entertainment this week, as it infused a bit of hip-hop flavor courtesy of a guest appearance by Wale. The D.C. rapper was brought through to make a couple of cameos, including one that took place during a backstage interview that resulted in him being named the first celebrity member of Apollo Crews and Akira Tozawa's expanding Titus Worldwide team. But it was Wale's appearance before a live audience as host of an epic rap battle that proved to be his greatest highlight of the night.

Wale would begin his facilitating duties by laying out the ground rules, as he stood between rivals The New Day and The Usos. But by the time all was said and done the ring would revert back to a physical battleground, with the back and forth disses nearly escalating into a brawl. "We don't use our cell phones when we're international, cause that's roaming/ I said, Y'all should get back to doing what you do best, and that's carrying bags for Roman," Xavier Woods spit, before tensions boiled over with an Usos attack.

Wale, who broke into a Harlem shake after hearing Woods' final bars, ultimately wound up pissed that he had to lose a shoe trying to keep the two sides apart. "That's why we can't never have nothing!" he'd scream into the microphone. The Usos were disqualified for losing their cool, thereby setting the stage for Wale to announce The New Day as WWE's battle champs.
