Inspired by an Arabic folk tale of a young man granted three wishes by a genie, Aladdin went on to be one of Disney's most beloved movies, winning two Academy Awards upon its release in 1992. Over the weekend it was announced that Will Smith will be playing the iconic role of Genie - the wise cracking, wish granting being that seems tailor made for the naturally silly Fresh Prince. Mena Massoud along with Naomi Scott has also been cast as Aladdin and Jasmine, respectively.
