A teaser for a film on battle rapping that is set to premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival was released today produced by none other than Detroit rap giant, Eminem.
"Bodied" follows the experience of a college student (Calum Worthy), who delves into the battle rap scene in the interest of exploring the form for his thesis. As Worthy goes along learning the culture and the art, he becomes more and more infatuated with the world that helped elevate all time greats like Eminem. Coincidentally Eminem happens to be the man responsible for helping put it out, as he fills the producer role alongside "We Made You" and "Love The Way You Lie" music video director Joseph Kahn.
The film is actually based on a true story inspired by the life of Canadian rapper Kid Twist. Twist, born Alex Larsen, is a historic figure in Canadian hip-hop, as he is looked at as being one of the figures responsible for popularizing rap battles in Toronto.
