Update: Chinara Butler, the wife of Pimp C, spoke out against a post that was making its rounds online, claiming that all of UGK's archives were lost in Hurricane Harvey. Butler spoke out on Instagram by writing "FAKE NEWS" over a post that was made to look like it came from her account.
She added in the caption, "#TrillTalkThursday Before this #FakeNews goes any further @vladtv@xxl I did not confirm anything regarding #UGK archives and memorbilla being destroyed by #HurricaneHavey. I shared a message to get some help to my step son that is all. If you would like clarity on ANYTHING for me feel free to hit @cherrellrene, her email is in my bio. BUT while I have everyone's attn Id like to encourage you to DONATE to any local charity efforts in #PortArthur #Houston#Beaumont #SouthEastTexas or anywhere affected by #HurricaneHarvey thats the ONLY thing that matters right now, getting people back on their feet."
Original Story: Among the destruction and devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey were valuable pieces of Hip-Hop, and in particular, Houston history.
Today, Chinara Butler, the wife of the legendary rapper Pimp C, announced that all of the UGK archives were lost during the hurricane. Despite the devastating loss, Pimp C's wife kept perspective mentioning the archives as a way to highlight the importance of what really matters; life and being thankful for it.
