Filming for the upcoming movie centered around Kyrie Irving's "Uncle Drew" character had begun, and the flick's actors and producers have been flooding the internet with humorous outtakes from the slapstick comedy.
In the clips Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, Lisa Leslie, Chris Webber, Shaq and Irving himself are each aged by a couple of decades to give them the look introduced to NBA fans and television audiences, courtesy of the Pepsi AD campaign that had the former Cavs point guard in an Eddie Murphy style costume get-up. In a video shared by comedian Lil Rel Irving throws bricks up at a Pop-A-Shot rim in a gaming room they shot a scene at. In a gif that circulated, Webber and Miller, goof around as Robinson shows his old man crossover skills. And in one particular clip, Shaq brings everyone together to step to some New Edition, as he's shown in the past that he loves to do.
News of an Uncle Drew release hit the presses through a Variety exclusive back in February. The cast of characters now has some movie poster imagery to help promote the film, which is set to air in theaters on June 29 of 2018.
