Earlier this year, Louisana rapper Da Real Gee Money was explaining to DJ Smallz that the rap beef that exists between artists in Baton Rouge isn't really about anything. It's mostly just jealousy and artists being competitive with one another. He believed that one day someone would step in and end the beef so Baton Rouge artists could get money together instead of fighting over it.

"Someone might be rapping and then you done passed them up, so now they got all kinds of animosity towards you. 99% of the beef doesn't have any real street meaning behind it."

Unfortunately, Gee Money (Garrett Burton) was shot and killed early Sunday morning. At this point, there are no suspects in this murder case. Gee Money was involved with a standing beef with fellow Baton Rouge rapper, NBA Youngboy.

Check out this video above as we mourn the loss of this talented young man.

RIP Gee Money.
